Whilst some of the resulting functions are not automatic installable components, they do provide all the scripts necessary and step by step instructions to enable you to build a custom add-on application for your web site.
Currently the following How to Tutorials are available:
- Multiple Listing Types Add On to Mosets Tree
Multiple Listing Types Tutorial for Mtree Versions 2.05 to 2.09
The Multiple Listing Types Turorial will show you add to 3 basic listing types to a standard Mtree installation using the models of Free, Standard and Featured listings. Additionally the documentation provided clearly explains how easy it is to expand well beyond this, by adding even more listing types. The tutorial is mostly based on Mtree templates and requires very minimal hacks to the Mtree core files. Everything is clearly documented in a easy to read step by step PDF file. The tutorial zip file also contains a copy all the modified templates used and a separare text file containing all the replacement scripts required to modify a few core files.
The custom templates provided can be used to replace the standard install templates, these templates will help form the building blocks to allow you to quickly configure and modify the layouts to suit your individual site. As a guide most people who have purchased this tutorial have been able to complete the basice 3 listing type structure in under 2 hours and have further modifications done in just a few more hours.
Note Tested on MtreeVersion 2.05 up to version 2.09
- Payments Management System Add On and Application for Mosets Tree
Payments Management System for Mtree Versions 2.08 and 2.09
The payments system tutorial is a little more complex, however once again everything is clearly documented and screen shots have been added to help guide you through the more complex sections. This system will enable you to build a very flexible payments system to completely manage subscription type listings for Mtree.
The system will allow you to accept on-line payments via PayPal in a completly automated process using PayPals Instant Payment Notification (IPN) system. Additionally you'll be able to self manage payments made by offline methods and apply listing subscription settings to even Free Listings.
The tutorial comes with all the scripts and clear instructions to build the initial IPN system and underlying database. Most of the scripts provided simply require uploading to your server and basic modification to set your individual settings. Most Forms and Table management is handled by Fabrik, which is a joomla forms and application builder. Once again the tutorial goes through step by step in using Fabrik to build the data management system.
Note Tested on MtreeVersion 2.08 and 2.09

Ajax Tabbed Layout for Mtree Add Listings
Ajax Tabbed Layout for Mtree Add Listings for versions 2.08 and 2.09
Does your Mtree Directory's Add Listing page seem almost endless, with users having to scroll the page to complete all the entry fields?
Wouldn't it be better to break up the Add Listing Page into manageable sections and then display each section in its own tab?
The problem is that most tabbed systems out there don't work very well with forms, in that each section needs to be saved before proceeding to the next tab, otherwise you loose the information from one tab to another. Unless of course the tabs system uses Ajax technologies.
Here's the good news…
Now you can with my new FREE tutorial Ajax Tabbed Layout for Mtree Add Listings!
Note Tested on MtreeVersion 2.08 and 2.09
These tutorials are a fully documented and come complete with all the source code hacks, allowing you to the customise every aspect of a the layouts and functions to build in integration to the third-party applications for which they where written.
Before ordering any of these tutorials I need to make some points very clear. The software for which they apply to are proprietary softwares, so, for instructional purposes I can’t show you the original authors complete code for the individual files that need modifying. I can however, show the code snippets from the original code along with the code to replace it with. So it’s really just a matter of opening the right file, locating the original code section and replacing it with the modified code.
All Paid tutorials are backed up with Email support to get you up and running ASAP. Please note that the scope of Email help available is for the function of the coding modification to enable the functionality of the specific tutorial and does not extend to individual template design or custom modifications.
Message from Admin:
A sarcastic thank you to the member who recently deleted all the subscription payments from the demo. In creating this demo site I wanted to leave open as many edit functions as possible so everybody could get first hand knowledge of how these systems work. But human nature being what it is, it only takes one act of stupidity to spoil it for everybody. So, as a result of this thoughtless action I've had to tighten security on the Demo functions which simply means you can still see but now there's less to play with.
